« on: February 02, 2004, 09:17:59 pm »
I recall seeing info about converting coin door lights to white LEDs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

I dunno if this is related to what you're thinking about.....

The coin door wedge light bulbs can easily be switched with another wedge fit light bulb OR a wedge-type LED.  Wedge type LEDS can be bought here www.superbrightleds.com (cheap and pretty fast shipping).  Hope that answers your question.

I replaced my dead coin door bulbs with white LEDs.  No conversion necessary.

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

I remember seeing someone who soldered an LED to a small piece of circuit board so it could be plugged into a socket.  That's what I _was_ looking for but this is FAR better.

Do you remember which ones you used?

I found this page...

...featuring 12 Volt Single LED Wedge Base Bulbs...

...and 12 volt 4 and 6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs...

I purchased 4 "Single LED Wedge Base Bulbs" and 2 "4 LED Wedge Base Bulbs" (all 12 volts, found on that link, http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm ) and all work excellent, although the single LED bulbs are all you really need.  Have fun!
