Just bought my first cabinet! - updated w/pics
« on: February 01, 2004, 02:09:42 pm »
I just paid for my first cabinet.  I won't be able to get my hands on it for a couple of weeks because the guy has to clean it up a bit, and I need to find a day when my friend with a truck will be available, but it's mine.  It's an old Aqua Jack cabinet that had been converted to something else, and then converted to Time Killers.  What sold me on it is that the whole control panel pulls out like a drawer, and has enough room for my PC and such in it.  The cabinet is in good shape, though it desperately needs a paint job, and I want to remove the little platform where the pedal used to go.  The control panel has ample room for 2 players with plenty of buttons, a trackball, and a spinner.  I'll post some pics once I have it in hand.

Sounds like a good basis for a MAME cab. Good luck with the project.

Is the pedal still there? If so I'd be interested in it.

Good luck with it.  I am still making the final touches to my machine.

Unfortunately the pedal and original joystick are long gone.  I am interested to see how much of the original art is left under the coat of black spraypaint, though.

I finally got the cabinet home.  Here's some pictures...

As you can see, it needs some paint, a monitor, and a marquee:

Here's a closeup of the control panel:

The control panel drawer pulled partially out:

Awesome Cab  ;D, lots of room on the Control panel, and that sliding control panel is a fantastic addition.

Oooooh!  Good catch!  Interesting shape and, as said before, a fantastic control panel!
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.
