Quick Track ball question.
« on: January 31, 2004, 01:08:13 pm »
On Happs site there is a sale (ends today) on the 3" Golden Tee Trackball, which has a higher lip than that of the regular 3".

My question is, can it still be mounted via the Trackball mounting plate also supplied by Happ ?

On my new CP layout, I want to use the mounting plate, as it is easier to do over - non plate designs.

Here are the links
Golden Tee 3"
Reg 3" TB
Mounting Plate

Thanks

Mike

According to Happ's site, they have replaced the 'standard' 3" whiteball t'ball with the hi-lip version.  The hi-lip version works well with the mounting plate, but the lip is just extended slightly to accomodate a plexi overlay.

BTW, www.gatorcade.com sells this trackball for Happ's sale price all the time.  I don't know if they ship to Canada, though.  I've also heard that orders from Happ to Canada get nailed with huge brokerage charges due to UPS, so that's just something to be aware of.

Wow! - thanks for the link for gatorcade.com - they do have good prices.

By how much? does it get in the way?

Also I relooked at happs sight, and the reg version of the white TB is a different part number and a higher cost (ie not on sale ) over the high-lip Golden Tee version.

It's extended probably about 3/16" or so.  Mine came with an adaptor plate that fits over the top of the housing so it is compatible with the older style mounting.

I guess I must have read something wrong on Happ's site, I thought that 56-0100-11 was shown as being replaced by 56-0100-11HL.

I re-looked and you are right Oscar, the golden Tee model does replace the other white 3" - I was looking at the high ball versions by mistake.
