Help, keyencoder problem
« on: January 31, 2004, 08:51:58 am »
Hi, in my setup i stripped a 2 player x-arcade into a dynamo cab.
In mame on pc , the buttons binded to Shift, Ctrl And Alt will bind as  "Left Shift Right Shift"  , " Left Ctrl Right Ctrl"  and  "Left Alt Right Alt".   This happens quite often and results are that these buttons will not work in the game ( press them and nothing) .  On the other hand sometimes, i try to bind them and get "Left Shift"  then all works well.

50% of the time works and other half won't work.

What would cause this?  My keyboard? Settings or defective encoder?

Thanks for the help.

If you are talking about assigning keys from the TAB menu, this will happen if MAME is paused when you try to change the assignments.

Man, this "left shift right shift" key assignment was so pissing me off and didn't know why it would do it some of the time.
Thanks a lot Tiger-Heli!

Don't feel bad, I played MAME for years, tried out Analog +, and was telling Urebelscum that something was coded wrong when he pointed that out to me . . .
