Using Aimtrak w/ Multiple IR bars/sources?
« on: August 10, 2017, 05:44:36 pm »
Hello!

As I'm trying to get back to my own Aimtrak project I'm curious - I understand that the only thing in the IR/sensor bars are the lights - any IR pointer device will do all the detecting/computing/positioning themselves. On the topic of better improving accuracy from multiple angles, is the Aimtrak software able to interpret more than one IR bar/source and if so does it have any effect on accuracy?

Its my understanding that it only reads from the one bar.

If you do try multiple bars though I would be interested to see your results as I considered the same thing myself.

I found the best ways of increasing the accuracy though was dependant on the height/angle that the bar was mounted and the amount of ambient light.

They dont like lots of ambient light or reflective surfaces like big windows, mirrors etc.

If you have a larger screen, I have a 55", I had to get the super ir bar instead of the smaller one.  The distance from the screen matters as well.  Good luck.

The firmware in the Aimtrak reads the LEDs in the bar and is designed to use exactly this configuration only. Adding additional light sources will cause it not to work.
