Help with coin door lights
« on: August 06, 2017, 07:40:37 pm »
My coin door has two #555 wedge base bulbs.  The bulbs are 6.3V and .25 amps. I'm trying to figure out the best way to light them.

I really have no idea what I'm doing, but based on reading lots of posts here, it seems that there are two common options:
1) Hack a wall wart.  I have one which provides 6.5V and 500 miliamps.
2) Hack a 5V DC line and ground line from my PC.

Is the wall wart powerful enough to power both bulbs?

I really have no idea what I'm doing here, but I really want to get the coin door lights working.  Advice and some newbie-level direction is greatly appreciated :)

Hack a 5V DC line and ground line from your PC. Easy Peasy.
