I have a bit of a delima & I was hoping that you all could help me out by giving me your opinions.
I just recently acquired a Donkey Kong Cab in pretty poor condition but fully MAMEable - just needs a little glue & bondo. I then picked up an R-Type cabinet today minus board, marquee & CP. Everything else is there. This thing is in great shape except for the right front edge where it looks like someone took a couple of bites out of it.
To top things off, the gentleman that I got the R-Type Cab from (thanks Richard) offered me a sweet deal on a Dynamo cabinet housing a Street Figher 2 CE that is in great shape & copmplete -actually only $50. The board has sound problems & the monitor has a bad flyback at the very least, but everything is there & this thing is solid.
Problem1: Wife says no more money on my toys (new workshop, cabs & parts, Craftsman tools, PC parts, etc...) untill she gets her additions to the house (utility room & great room).
I think that the $50 is a very negligible amount & I may be able to sweet talk her into the idea, but...
Problem2: I have no more room to put this huge cab!
In fact I still have one more cab that I already own that I must move into my new workshop (another story) from my old run-down shed & I don't don't know where I will find room for it.
I suppose that I can get rid of the Donkey Kong or the R-Type to make room for the Dynamo - It would be an excellent candidate for MAMEing except for the tiny control panel.
What would you do?
- no getting rid of the wife is not an option.
This is one of the very few times that she has given me any lip about my hobby & it's for good reason, but I'd hate to pass up a good deal & later wish I hadn't.
Here are some pics to help.
Thanks
Z
