Happ Trackball input Lag Again thread
« on: June 14, 2017, 09:27:12 pm »
Hey gang this is something I have just spent the last hour or so searching on the forums as this issue has been posted many times for the last 10 years. I just went from a betson imperial trackball to a new Happ 3in LED usb version trackball. I have that lag when playing golden tee and world class bowling. If you give to much forward spin it will lag out for a split second. This is very annoying and makes golden tee unplayable. I'm running Windows 7 MAME version 0.171 the mouse driver says its from mircosoft. I have played with the mouse settings and it still did not help. Reading I came across this from happ as mentioned in some other threads.

So long story short after talking to some vendors this version of the trackball if you spin it way to fast the encoder can not read it. So if you have no plans for Golden tee it will be fine as everything else works great. This is up for sale I''ll post in the other forum with pics.

Ya I tried all that stuff thanks for the link DEL. I contacted Happ and they said the red board would fix my issue but from what other sources told me it wouldn't so I don't know if I want to drop another 30 dollars on that chip. I have never taken apart a trackball to see if this would be easy to install. From looking at it here https://na.suzohapp.com/products/trackballs/A052-1011-00 seems like its just a 4pin molex.

Just pulled this out and put my 13yr old PS2 Betson imperial back in and it works flawlessly. Happ is up for sale in the other forum. I would have to hack this  :censored: out of this to make it work not worth it. Thanks for reading guys  :afro:
