Happ trackball install help!!

So, I bought a Happ Controsl 3" trackball.....bought the mounting plate and the bolts. I've drilled holes in my 3/4" CP for the bolts, and I've drilled a 3" hole as well.

But my trackball sits too low....I've seen other installs and it seems they've all routed out a section underneath, but I can't for the life of me find a place that has the exact image that I have to route out. Am I missing something here?

I've never done this before, nor do I even have a trackball yet, but I have routed things before and I'd suggest:
1.bolting it into place
2.tracing it
3.removing it
4.rout away

Again, I haven't done this, so don't blame me if it screws something up.

Look at the mounting instructions at Happ's site.  You're supposed to cut a 5.6" square hole for the entire trackball to fit through from above.
