MS Pac-man bootleg, graphics problems
« on: May 21, 2017, 12:37:01 pm »
Hi all

I just got a MS Pac-man bootleg PCB. It has some slight graphics problems on the main screen, and
upon maze attract mode the ghosts and the player are just colored blocks. I have tried reseating the
eight EPROMS on the board. Any advice would be great :)

Bad 5E? Make sure all legs are clean and none are folded over.

Thanks! How do I know which eprom are equal to 5E? or the others, for that matter. I have attached a picture of my Falcon bootleg below.
The row closest to the edge connector are 2732's the row behind is 2716's. If I burn new eproms, what should I use - and where should they
go?

It seems that only the eproms are in socket. I can't even find the ram on the picture  :banghead:

Thanks!

it is labled 9
look at the side of your board
it is printed 1-9
go to 5 this is your row
e=5th chip over
as from the bottom of the row counting up it is a 74ls style
come in the other way
wala a eprom marked 9
your rams are on row 0 and 1 or 1 and 2

Thanks! I wasn't sure that the bootleg used the same placement of the eproms.

Eprom 9 is a 2716, which can hold 2kb. The 5E data (obtained from a mame-set of pac-man) is 4kb.

Which makes be doubt if this bootleg is using the exact same roms as an original board? I just want to
burn a new eprom and see if it works :)

Thanks for your time!
