dual minipac's running 4p panel issue
« on: March 23, 2017, 10:40:32 am »
Searched and didn't find much of anything related to this.

I assembled a new 4p panel and i'm using 2 minipac's to run everything. I cannot seem to program them appropriately, they both just want to be p1/p2 and when both are plugged in, then one won't work.  I technically need one to be P1/P3 and the other to be P2/P4 as that's the buttons/joysticks they are running.  I tried using the old WinPac software but it errors out with the new mini's.  The new software technically works, however i find it more difficult to use and you can't see the button layouts, which kind of sucks.  I noticed the mac version kind of combines the best of both, so i'll try that tonight. But i still can't get around the issue of having both plugged in at the same time.

The only reason i have the 2 mini's is because to save some time i got a panel kit from MonsterArcade.  Didn't feel like building a panel and the CNC'd panel is pretty nice from MA.

Any help would be appreciated.

The main reason we replaced the older WinIPAC was many people found it confusing and we got endless support requests from users attempting to configure connections by using the actual control panel rather than just mouse/keyboard.

It should be very straightforward to reconfigure each board using the new version. If there is a problem drop me an email and I will try to help: andy@ultimarc.com

Thanks for the responses.

I guess my main issue with the new software is you can't see what anything is.  Your screenshot in the website shows what connection is what, but that program doesn't do that, so you have to go through the drop-down for each item. It would be nice to just click on the board and say ok, i want to program p1 joystick, here's up,down, left, right. But i don't have a clue what connection on the board is actually p1 joy/buttons, etc.

I think my issue is something with USB as both controllers can't be plugged in at the same time.  I'm going to try another computer tonight, or put in another USB controller.
