I am pretty sure this isn't an original Choplifter.

Thanks!

MACH 3 looks like a terrible game. Chopplifter looks way more fun.

I may pick this up, I really really like the look of the cab. What the hell should I do to it????? Restore as a Choplifter? Maybe another Sega game? hmmmmm.....

MACH 3 was a cool game when I was a kid. It had real video played from a laserdisc. Very hi tech for 1983.

I'd go for a full resto on that as Mach III.  You don't come across those cabs often.

At the very least, you can remove the Choplifter guts, sell off the parts and clean up the cab for a fellow collector who is looking for the shell.  With the extra money you can buy a nice cab that fits the bill for your next project.

Not sure if that would be worth it... I am sure it's hard to find laser disc players to hook up into cabs these days.

It would be really hard to source to parts for that. There was also a cockpit version.

Either way, you could clean up the shell and post it on KLOV.  A serious collector who has all the parts may bite and have it shipped.  For the $150 investment on that cab I'd do it...  You will recoup that much in the PCB and part sales alone.

M.A.C.H 3 was THE coolest game ever at that time  :notworthy:
I spent a lot of money in that machine, and as already stated by Mike A - in 1983 it was mindblowing to have video and sound of that quality in a game. Essentially a rails shooter that isn't much - seen with the eyes of today, but again, back then it was.
I would sell one of my kids to have a working game in original cabinet. Until then I just settle with playing it in MAME...  ;D
