First Attempt at Control Panel Layout and Art
« on: February 19, 2017, 08:21:12 pm »
Spent the weekend cutting plywood and then spent the evening playing around with layouts and artwork. This is what I have come up with. Any comments or suggestions from you seasoned pro's most welcome. One thing I haven't yet been able to get right is the marque. I want it to be called Arcadia and use the Atari font to fit in with the logo theme. I've added the side art, control panel, front panel which has the admin buttons and the marque.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I just need to decide what colour buttons and joystick would go well as well as what colour t-molding.

Are you overlaying the entire side panel with this artwork or just the strips that have color.  I've thought of something similar to this but I was going to stain the wood and apply a urethane or lacquer rather than use a decal.

Very cool.  I really like it.   I'd say do you buttons in similar colors (if you can find them!)

That could work nicely.

I was going to cover the whole thing, although i am building it out of plywood, so could stain it and just do the stripes.
