How do I go about speeding up buttons?

I have recently purchased some ultralux buttons. I am still getting use to the concave vs convex, but I believe I will get use to them.

I sure would like to speed them up though. Don't get me wrong they feel good but I would like to find a way to get less travel. Should I cut the spring or put some filler on the little foot that presses the micro switch.

Input would be great. We play some very competitive fighting games and speed is a big deal. We have already modded our jlf's to be way faster so the buttons are next.

I like the micro leafs from ggg. Not too leafy for fighters and not too clicky like microswitches. Its a good balance for a wider variety of games.

+ 1, I have these on my 4-way for classic games.  But I think he's looking more for speed than feel.

Can't get faster actuation than buttons which use true leaf-switches.  There is no reset travel, and they can also be easily adjusted for any "speed" you find works the best for your play style.

I ordered some micro leafs from ggg as well.

I have been wondering if any one out there have added material to the little stop feet on button plungers to reduce travel? Not sure what i could stick in that tiny space. I have thought maybe a magnifying glass, some super glue and some small pieces of plastic.

I had a really funny punchline worked out, but I've withheld it on account of David Foley's wife probably not appreciating it that much. 

In seriousness, you could probably use a little blob of epoxy or JB Weld. It could be filed down to fine-tune/equalize travel. Depending on the composition of the buttons (I think they're ABS, but could be wrong here), you could alternatively use a suitable plastic welding compound and thin sheet stock to shim the feet.

I did a tiny dab of hot glue for my mini pin. It keeps it right on the edge of being switched for super fast reaction.

Sounds like the way to go. Going to have to get out the magnifying glass on this one.

The only thing up in the air now is how to make the filler the same size for all 12 buttons. I will measure what I need tomorrow.
