****Edit Monitor Question below*****

I am pumped about this one. I am 35 and my favorite game growing up was Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition. I was never a fan of Hyper fighting as it just encouraged button mashing. And Super Street fighter 2 got very cartoony. This has been my fav game since 93.

Plus it's a Z back! Very 90s!!!!

Not really a resto... but I am soaking the buttons and replaced all of the microswitches. Fixed the color and set the bad boy to free play. I still have to drill the bottom lock. And I need a new CP

The big mystery... and I have no idea why, or if Capcom was trying to save money but there was only one speaker! The second speaker was never wired up and although there is a speaker grill on the Right side, there are no holes drilled for the screws to go in.  ???

Anyone every stumble upon something like that? Speakers are cheap!

Re: Street Fighter 2 CE Monitor questions...
« Reply #5 on: March 05, 2017, 11:59:16 pm »
So here are my questions...

I am getting an inconsistent picture on my Street Fighter 2. When I turn on the machine (where I should have a blue background) I have a black background instead. More specifically the title screen and the character select screen (each have black backgrounds). I have a blueish green muddy thing that appears in the top left corner and sometimes I get really high contrast in colors. Now The machine seems to get better colors once the monitor warms up. Sometimes I can adjust the pots (not a lot, just small turns) and that seems to speed up the process. So I assume (I could be wrong) it could use a cap kit. Something isn't firing right away until it warms up and what ever it is, it's probably going to go bad soon. The monitor seems to be 100% original and not worked on, the last owner told me he wanted it to be 100% original and really didn't know anything about how the game works (you should have seen how he rigged the coin slot to get a credit... instead of just going into free play).

Anyway... those who really are decent with monitors what do you think could be my problem. I don't know and I don't want to assume. Hell it could even be the PCB. I don't know.

Either way I need help identifying this beast. I assume it's a Polo but I have never seen one with a big ass fan. here are some pics.
