Help with illuminated push buttons

Hi there,

I have an arcade coffee table running Mame 0.146 and MaLa 1.74 and am using an I-PAC 2.

I have recently purchased the PAC-Drive LED controller board as I would like to fit illuminated push buttons in place of the standard ones;

3 x fire buttons per side
2 x Pinball flipper buttons (Player 1)
1 x Standby button

The logical choice would be the Ultralux illuminated buttons from Ultimarc but they look to be flat-top buttons where the existing (and my preference) would be concave buttons.

Are there any decent illuminated, concave buttons that I should be looking at please?

Looks like Ultimarc sells the "ClassicRGB" buttons which are LED & concave.

Yeah, stay away from the flat buttons. They feel like ass. They're not a bad product, but if you grew up in the arcades playing on the other buttons, you really don't want to do anything else.

I dont mind the flat ones tbh.
They took a while to get used to after always using concaves but now ime used to them I dont mind them.

Just one of them "it feels odd, need to adjust" things.

Why put yourself in the situation where you need to adjust? Buy right the first time!

I dont think its a bad thing to try out different things and see if they work for you.

Admittedly I still prefer concave but at least I can say I tried flats and given them a good chance

Bought them, used them, didn't like them, gave them away. Will never buy them again. Learn from Yot's mistakes, people. If you grew up playing on classic concave, there's no way you're going to like those lighted flat buttons. Trust me on this one. I won't steer you wrong.

I saw the Ultimarc RGB buttons just after I posted. They look good and I really would like them but I already have the PacDrive board and setup seems much simpler as according to what I have read it is plug & play with MaLa where the RGB setup would need something like LEDBlinky?

I would prefer to keep it simple but I must admit I like the idea of those RGB buttons. Decisions...decisions!

Well mine survived the R-type Leo comp LOL

Seriously though LED's are pretty hardy devices so long as they are assembled/fitted well you should have no problems.
