I Cade setup in Ms. Pacman Cabinet
« on: January 07, 2017, 02:41:04 pm »
I have a Ms. Pacman Jamma cabinet that I installed an I Cade 60 in 1 board. When I turn on the power the Initialization works fine.
I can boot up any game but can't get to the setup screen or use any game that uses a fire button. I have full use of the joystick and the player 1 and 2 buttons work fine to start the games , but no jumping, firing etc. Please help.

Bit confused about what cab you have, as Ms. Pac-Man isn't JAMMA, and doesn't have any fire buttons.

Anyway, to get into setup, either hold in the test button when you switch on, or if you don't have one, there's a DIP switch to get into setup. Think it's DIP 1.

Agree with Big10...

You get into the setup by turning it on with the proper dip switch settings. From there, you configure all the games. It's not a setup in each game. As for the fire button, what troubleshooting steps have you done already? Have you confirmed the button is good? Are you sure you're using the Player 1 button 1 wire?

Sorry I believe it is an original Ms. Pacman Cabinet. It has the joystick and the yellow player one and player two buttons only. Buttons will start game but no jumping or firing.

Are you saying it only has the joystick and start buttons? If so, you're not going to have an action button unless you add one. If I'm wrong, take a picture and post it.

Yes it only has the two start buttons, if I have to add a "fire" button which terminal on the harness does it wire to? I was under the impression that the start buttons took over for the fire and jump functions when the game starts,

Assuming that your cab has a JAMMA harness, Pin 22 is Player 1 Button 1.

Thanks for the help. I'll trace the wire to that pin.

You could connect the P1 button as Fire/jump as well, since they are usually not used at the same time - however on the Icade boards the fire button triggers the Preview mode from the menu, so it is not feasible here.
A good thing though that nobody drilled an original cabinet for additional buttons - please keep it that way and set the icade board to only show the Pacman games :)

If its a Ms Pacman in a JAMMA cabinet it is not an original anyway.
