Happ Controls is slow....
« on: January 23, 2004, 12:44:13 am »
In your experience what is the average time from order to shipment from Happ Controls.  I've had an order sitting at "Allocating Parts" for 4 days now.   It's a small  order.  Only a 19" bezel and cocktail glass clips.

If they are waiting on parts, you should be able to call them up and ask them what the expected date for the parts to arrive at their warehouse.     I know i was waiting on happ supers  when i ordered and i had to wait almost a month, but the buttons that i had ordered at the same time came within the week.    They offered to hold the whole order for me or send out the partial shipment, so i let them send my buttons.  Only bad thing was i had to pay for two shipping charges, which was dumb on my part. I didn't really think about it at the time though and would not recommend doing it that way UNLESS you just HAD to have something  RIGHT NOW lol.

good luck. Patience always wins out. :)

I placed a $100 order on Monday and it showed up today. Three days from the order date to showing up here in Olympia, Washington is pretty good I think.

I ordered a trackball, mounting plate, and a ton of buttons on Tuesday morning.  By Tuesday evening they e-mailed the tracking number.  It's not scheduled to arrive till Monday, but that's because its UPS ground and it shipped from their Illinois warehouse (Going to Florida).

All depends on whether they are out of stock on anything in your order.  I've had a week, three weeks (they were out of stock on one item and I had them ship all at once) and next day.  Shipping time can also be affected by which warehouse they ship from (Illinois or Las Vegas).

Contact them and ask.

I ordered a trackball, buttons, t-molding, etc from them at noon this past Monday, they shipped it the same day and I got it today.  That's pretty amazing!   ;D

Last week my order came in 2 days. The order a couple weeks ago was 5 business days. If your only paying for UPS ground you have to figure 4-5 days plus how ever long it takes them to pull it and pack it.

I don't like how they can't tell you on the web when you order something if its in stock and I don't like how they don't tell you shipping up front. My bezel and marquee retainer shipping was $32.

They are the ultimate arcade parts supplier, so what else you gonna do?
My statements are my own opinions. They have the value that the reader gives them. My opinion of my opinion varies between foolish and brilliant and these opinions often change with new information.

Well I am in the UK, but Happ now have a UK warehouse...

Anyway, it seems to take forever for things to arrive - anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.  Annoyingly you pay through the nose for the stuff as well  >:(

Actually I was gonna order something from them and when I got to the actual checkout page, it had the part "On order with supplier" or something.  It should have told you on that page whether something was in stock.  I guess they could be wrong... which would definetly suck.

Funny, but when I order something on the Happ site it says "In Stock-yes" or "In stock-MM/DD/YY" so I know if it's in stock or when it will be in stock. I don't have any problems with Happ.

Sometimes Happ can get items to me in a fair amount of time (4-5 days via standard UPS Ground).  Other items from Happ seem to take a very long time (Marquee holders, trackball plates which are still 3 months over due, 4 way joystick, 3 months as well).  I also tend to disagree with the shipping rates that Happ charges.  It would seem that they add and extra 5-9% on top of the current UPS shipping rate and I would hate to have to pass along that extra cost to my customers.  I ship with UPS as well and noticed the price difference in shipping items of the same size and weight (ex - Buttons and Joysticks).   At that point I just started buying buttons and sticks from www.centsibleamusements.com because I was able to get a realtime quote of what the shipping price would be.   Plus his prices are the same as Happs.
Don't get me wrong, I still buy from Happ, but I only buy from them when needed.
