Ipac-2 question / help
« on: January 04, 2017, 03:57:02 am »
Hi all, I've got an older (2013) ipac2, and haven't used it for a couple of years. The alt programming that I've saved previously still appears to be set (when accessing via WINipac). However, when trying to test the buttons or controls nothing seems to function. Just wondering if it's something simple I need to double-check (yet again) - such as grounding wire linked through properly?? To clarify furher, if the grounding wire is not consistently linked between controls and buttons, will that render all as inoperable in testing?? many thanks!

If your ground wires are daisy chained and crimped (ie continous) then only the individual button that has lost a ground will be inoperable.

If the chain is broken at some point all controls after the break will be inoperable.

Use the Ipac utility, it will give you visual displays if the control is operating when you use them.

First, does the LED on the board stay lit when hooked up to the PC? If it flashes then goes out, you probably have a short somewhere.

When I had this problem a few days ago, I finally fixed it by finding it in device manager (it had an error and couldn't start or something), uninstalling it, then unplugging and reconnecting the Ipac. That got it working for me. Also try running the Winpac utility in administrator mode. Rebooting the PC may also help.
