Arcade controls for Wii
« on: December 13, 2016, 04:22:20 pm »
Hello,

I'm working again on a wii arcade machine. I've got the software 95% completed, my next challenge is getting arcade controls hooked up.

Ultimarc used to sell a jamma to GameCube adapter (which also works for the wii) but they don't anymore. I have an xarcade adapter but I don't think I can hook it up using an ipac or jamma controls can I? Here's a link to that https://shop.xgaming.com/products/x-arcade-adapter-5-game-systems

Any other ideas on how to do this? Lastly, here's a photo of the front end I have configured

Here's a photo of the xarcade adapter. Would it be possible to use a USB to serial port adapter to make this compatible with a USB encoder/arcade controls?

Please guys, I really don't want to use xarcade controls. Their customer support is terrible (I waited 3 months for a refund) and the controls aren't much better. Thanks for your help!

I have some samples of the new upcoming KADE miniArcade 2.0 with output support for the following devices (auto detection):

- PC

- Mac

- Android (OUYA, etc...)

- PS1 (directly via RJ45 port)

- PS2 (directly via RJ45 port)

- PS3

- Classic XBOX

- Wiimote (directly via RJ45 port)

- WiiU (via USB)

- XBOX360 (via PS2 to XBOX360 controller adapter)

- Nintendo 64 (directly via RJ45 port)

- Game Cube (directly via RJ45 port)

It should be also possible to plug it on an extra board called Multi-Out which would allow to get output support for:

- Sega Genesis

- Sega Master System

- Atari 2600 (and several other compatible DB9 connector based consoles)

- NES

- SNES

- NeoGeo

Let me know if you are interested.

I was going to say there is probably a Kade for this.

But hacking a wii mote should still be a possibility.

Hacking the Wii classic controller would be a good solution.

Check out the following link for reference http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,76185.0.html

Doesn't show any wii controllers but it would be the exact same method. Its not hard if your comfortable with a soldering iron.
