How to hook up a coin door to an old KeyWiz Max 1.5 board?
« on: December 10, 2016, 11:54:29 am »
I had this working several years ago, but the wires have been pulled out.

The microswitch that is triggered by the coin/token has three terminals. From what I remember, the one by itself is the ground and needs to be wired to the common ground on the KeyWiz Max. One of the other two terminals needs to be wired to input "L" (for "insert coin"). I currently have that wired to an "insert coin" button on my control panel.

Am I missing something? I touched a wire to the ground while the other end was twisted temporarily onto the terminal of the coin slot, and it didn't work. I tried again with the other terminal and it still didn't work.

I figure either I'm remembering wrong (which happens more and more), or the connections were not good enough.

Any opinions?

Do some digging for the basics on wiring any arcade switch. There is a ground terminal, normally open terminal, and normally closed terminal,  figure out which is which and confirm that the switch is good. Good luck:)

Thanks. I've tried all the various combinations and it didn't work... I'll go back and make sure that I was getting a good connection.
