Hey Guys
Just wondering if anyone's seen any kind of issue like this.
My panel has a LOT of controls, and for the longest time, I was daisy chaining 4 and 8 port hubs to accommodate.
Fast forward and I finally got some time and cash to update the ol' buffet.
Left the mobo alone, but replaced the HD with an SSD, updated to USB3 via a PCIE card, converted to WIn10, and added a Manhattan Mondo 28 port USB hub.
One hub to rule them all! Yay!
So, virtually all my miriad USB problems went away like magic. Everything played nice together, finally....
Except....
My Spintrack. ughhh
At first, I thought I'd killed it. Tried the usb 2.0 ports on the hub, the 3.0 ports, etc. Nothing. Windows doesn't even see it plugged in.
so, on a whim, I unplugged the port and plugged the spintrack DIRECTLY into one of the USB ports on the PC.
AND IT WORKED JUST FINE!
Sooo, anyone have any ideas why a usb device would simply not work with a specific hub, but work with tons of other hubs (i've got standard usb 2.0 hubs from Kensington, iogear and various knockoffs) as well as work fine just directly plugged in to the PC?
I +COULD+ run another USB extender cable to the CP, but it's not the prettiest thing to do in the world.
Maybe there's an update to the spintrack firmware available? I poked around on Ultimarcs site but didn't see anything.
TLDR;
Spintrack plugged into a Mondo28 port USB 3 hub won't even get recognized by windows 10.
Plugged directly into the PC, it works fine. Can't figure out why. Would rather not have to run second extension cable to it
