How are you lighting up your trackball?
« on: November 25, 2016, 05:27:18 pm »
I have a green translucent trackball from Happ's and want to light it up. I looked on ultimarc and grooveygamegears sites and dont see anything. Found some things on ebay but I can make those myself. :laugh2:

Should I just wire up my own? I have some green 5v leds that are used for other effect on the cab but I think they may not be bright enough to light up this big piice of plastic. :dizzy:
They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.

It really doesn't take too much to get a nice glow for the trackball.  The "lighted" option for the Happ is simply a bulb attached with a screw.   See attached.

For single-color it's really easy to roll your own like this.

I used 3 ButtonBlaster LEDs from GGG  :o  -- two would have been enough.

The green lines are the current-limiting resistors.

With GGG you just need to get a powersupply and wire it up.. pretty simple.

I'm interested in a couple of these with white LED's.  Any suggestions where to get the LED's cheap?

Ah, OK.  I'll probably stock the white in the future, next time I put in an LED order.  Thanks.
