Somebody school me on Utrak setup?
« on: November 08, 2016, 09:40:03 pm »
Mameuifx
Enable mouse input selected I mame controller section

Utrak works side to side in game but not up and down??

What am I doing wrong?
I am using this is hyperspin...is there anything else to setup?

I tried using WinIpac V2 but couldn't figure out how to use it?

Before configuring the FE and MAME, does the UTrak Y-axis work correctly as a mouse in Windows?

I got her going now in golden tee..
She's a little rough going up and down in Windows but it's there.

My other question is...does the board power the led inside it? I'm about to run my led's in my CP and am hoping the 2 harnesses that came with that are already plugged in on the board to get it to work, power the bulb inside?

By "2 harnesses", I assume you mean the two X- and Y-axis 4-pin (5v, ground, data1, data2) connectors shown in this pic.
(7 wires -- ground is jumpered inside the U-Trak)

The only LEDs that are powered by these 7 wires are the 4 IR LEDs in the opto circuits.

Correct
I didn't know which way to hook them up for the trackball to work correctly
So I just tried it until it worked properly...just not sure how the led inside the ball hooks up..I'm hoping once power is ran to the led part of the board it will shine up.

There is no LED "inside the ball".

If you want to illuminate the ball, you need to mount a LED like the "RGB LED Illumination Kit" or my custom-built LED board underneath the U-Trak.

FAK!!!
Why isn't this option on the actual purchase page when you order the UTrack.
I like Andy a lot, his support is great but I've had to make like 5 different orders because of this very issue on the website, it's just frustrating.

Dude, just read before you quit. You're literally the first person I've run across in 6 years who's ever had this problem.

I'm a noob what can I say
I'm trying! I dig the products tho.  Solid.
That utrak takes up so much room in my cp tho, it's hard to find a place to mount the I/o that all cables reach, and still able to close.
