Brand new CRT. Now how to open the Service menu
« on: October 31, 2016, 08:48:48 am »
Yes I got a brand new CRT TV, I live in south east Asian and that's a thing here.

It is labeled as a LG on the front, with no model number any ware on it. I tried the LG service menu code (Holding the menu on the TV and remote at the same time) but it did not work.

At some point I read that all the last generation of CRT's have the same guts regardless of bran. I need to find out how to get the service menu before I try to RGB mode this sucker.

Any ideas are welcome.

Much like here in North America, I'm sure if it was an ACTUAL branded LG television it would have a model number on it somewhere.

it could be likely it's a ripoff brand by a random China company.

maybe there is a chassis number printed on the inside of the case. try removing the back of the cabinet and see if there are stickers or other labeling on the inside. I've seen schematics and other service info printed on the inside of the cabinet before.

Thanks will do.

Why not just get the Wei-Ya chassis for it and be done with it.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
