cp design question
« on: January 21, 2004, 12:12:21 am »
ive seen several sites of peoples cabs where they have these graphed out cp designs (or full cabs) all to scale.  am i missing something here or is this a lot more complicated than i need to get into?  i mean, im designing my cab kinda from scratch and i want to make sure its to scale...all the pieces i mean. how are you guys making your plans with the grids and all that?

also, this involves cp art as well.  once i create my cp, im going to put some cool art over it and im wondering how everyone makes it?  im sure this is a frequently asked question, but i know a little of photoshop...layers and whatnot, but the problem i have is once again creating everything to scale.  how do you know that any graphics you put on your cp art are going to look good?  if i take some pic of ryu and put it as a layer on some cp art, how do i know it wont look like crap?  it looks good on screen of course, but once i print it out, how do i know it wont be all pixelated?

any help to these questions would be greatly appreciated. 8)

You are in the main forum right now.  There is an Artwork forum that will give you many of the answers you are looking for.

I have a quick answer though... you just have to try things out.  Learn from what has worked for others, and build upon that to do something unique (or not so unique, whatever makes you happy).

About pixelation, you want to use a tool like Adobe Illustrator to create vector graphics.  A vector graphic will scale to any size without pixelation.  Again, you will learn more about that in the Artwork forum.  Specifically, check out the tutorial from Frostillicious.
