'Ghosts 'n Goblins, known as Makaimura in Japan, is a run and gun platformer video game series created by Tokuro Fujiwara and developed by Capcom. The first entry in the series was Ghosts 'n Goblins, released as an arcade title on September 19, 1985. The game has you controlling a knight who throws his currently picked up-weapon axe, lance, cross, dagger, or firebrand to kill enemies zombies, bats, demons and ghosts. Two hits from an enemy attack will kill him. The first destroys his armour and then he runs around in underpants. There are six levels with a halfway restart point on each. A map shows your progress throughout the levels at start of each life.'

I once got to the GnG second level on only seven credits. True story.

Think I might join in this one. I was too late to the party for the RType Leo  :'(

OH GOD NO WHY

Seriously.  I'm pretty sure I'd get a higher score just farming zombies in level 1 until I run out of time.  I think I've made it to level 2 like... twice?

Heh. Not really. I just played a game of 'My little zombie farm'. I was able to get to stage 2 3 times, the highest score I could do was about 50k. I seriously doubt that someone who hasn't played this to death will be able to make 100k by trying to go as far as possible, so I won't try it.

My roommate and I played the crap out of the Sega Genesis version back in the day.  He got so mad at the game one night that he popped a blood vessel in his eye.  Gonna have to fire this one up on my cab and see how long it takes to frustrate the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of me :)

Wait they already have.  Like, a bunch of times.

Read it and weep.

In pity.

14,600. Just a placeholder from the laptio to throw my hat in. I'll run it on the cab later. Which will make zero difference to how good I am...

This high score competition should be modified to be a high level competition.  This game is HARD.  Whomever makes it to the highest level wins.  LOL.

Sooo ... How far did I make it into area 2 ?

Can't tell by the screenshot. Also, this only shows how far you got on your last life. To determine who has gotten furthest, everyone would need to record their gameplay.

Soo, just to show that not only do I know how to farm zombies, I actually am able to play the game. Made it to area 3. The score is not worth it, though.

acvieluf 100,900
Tithgamer 88,100
lettuce 47,600

Yep.

I still can't get a "perfect" farming run over all 5 lives.

I can't, either. That's why I farmed for 4 lives and 90 seconds and then went on to the middle of area 2 on the last life.

The scoreboard.

Has to be said that game is stupidly hard!
I managed level 2 but that was about it.

Need alot of cash to complete that one lol
