Here is the dilema...
My Configuration is the following....
Windows 7 x64
Asus Z97-A USB 3.1 Motherboard - capable of driving QTY 12 USB devices
HyperSpin (latest version)
RocketLauncher (latest version)
MAME (v169)
joy2key (latest version) - handles U360 to KB mappings for HyperSpin
I am having difficulties deciding how to maintain consistent 15+ USB targets for each of the following devices...
Ultimarc U360 1
Ultimarc U360 2
Ultimarc U360 3
Ultimarc U360 4
Ultimarc iPac (keyboard)
Ultimarc OptiPac (trackball)
Ultimarc AimTrak 1
Ultimarc AimTrak 2
Ultimarc AimTrak Lite Bar
Generic Bluetooth for QTY 2 8bitdo retro controllers
Microsoft Bluetooth for QTY 2 Xbox 360 controllers
Apache Controls Blackhawk Spinner 1
Apache Controls Blackhawk Spinner 2
Computer Keyboard
Computer Mouse
Software is all configured and working clean (Hyperspin, RocketLauncher and MAME)
The problem I have is that at various times the USB devices will get scrambled and MAME Configurations get lost and need to be re-done. Yuck!
This of course is a common problem as I can see, which apparently is fixed in a future version of MAME not yet available (v179). Thank you tverona!
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,151710.0.htmlUnfortunately I would like to stay on the current verison of MAME in my cabinet (v169).
So this means:
a) Rebuild v169 to incorporate tverona's fix (tried and was not successful)
b) Use an alternate means (ControllerRemap) to manage the USB ID problem. Thank you drventure!
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,108767.0.htmlWhat do you guys think? I am leaning toward using ControllerRemap since I want to maintain this v169 release of MAME.
Also, does anyone have recommendations on which device(s) I should plug directly into the motherboard versus plugging into an external powered HUB? My thought was to hook 4-U360, 2-AimTrak, 2-Bluetooth, OptiPak, iPac to the motherboard USB, and have 2-Spinners, KB and Mouse all on the HUB.
Any ideas/thoughts are welcome!
Thanks,
David
