why not ask?

just curious, if anybody out there has found a specific emulator or version of mame that is more trackball friendly when it comes to getting games like golden tee working well.
I'm thinking more about mame alternatives but otherwise for you trackball users out there how sensitive is your windows cursor movement setup? and do you find that you're using similar mame analog setting for all games or are you finding the need to tweak quite a bit.  has anybody had success dialing in golden tee? if so what are you mame analog settings.

You will need to set up each game individually sadly to get the sensitivity and speed right.

Which Golden Tee? I think I have the Fore! games on the default sensitivity.

You have to tweak each title individually, and other people's settings are not going to help you very much, since they are going to vary wildly because of different trackballs, encoders, mouse drivers, mame versions and how familiar they are with how each title is supposed to feel.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I have concluded that the issues I am having with certain games are not specific to trackball setting its actually an input delay in general it seems that all inputs are being queued in order and then eventually processed.

Example: Super Sprint (or any other version). If I turn the spinner left and right a few times then held the throttle for 3 seconds. the game is going to give me 3 seconds of throttle after it acts out the spinner inputs even if it is taking place long after I pushed and released the button because game is still processing inputs I already made.

It's like I need frame skip for my inputs

Just to clarify the games seem to be running smoothly aside from the input problems

How are your inputs connected?

USB hub in my control panel

I started trying to reduce input lag with mame.ini settings

Turned off  wait vsync, glad, triple buffering etc and didn't see an improvement

Even though I though the games were running at full frame rate I tried exerting frame skip to auto in mame and bam!

Setting Frame skip to auto has solved my problem

Possibly the USB hub is your problem?

Enabling auto frame skip in mame solved the problem. And I'm so glad :) Thanks for the help
