A few RGB Drives went out
« on: September 29, 2016, 08:50:18 pm »
Hey All,
I recently moved and moved my arcade over to the new house.  Upon doing so, I seemingly have 2 dead rgb drives on 2 buttons, and one where red is very very dim.  I tried the usual shenanigans, make sure its attached to board right, etc etc.  I have a 2p 6 button cp and use one led wiz, so I sync p1 b1 with p2 b1 for colors and lighting, so b1 for both players is plugged into the same ports on the led wiz.

Anyhoo, are these common to go out?  Anything to check to get these back working?  I have a few backups on order just in case, just wanted to get your advice.  Thanks.

Check your connections at the RGB-Drive pcb.  If the wires were shaken around a lot during transport of the unit, a couple of the wires may have broken, and/or are shorting to adjacent contacts.

Thank you sir, I will check that.

And by my plugging the same buttons into the same ports on the wiz, one side works and the other doesn't, which eliminates issues at the board, sorry if that wasn't clear.
