Newbie to Ipac UIO
« on: September 24, 2016, 06:59:58 pm »
Hi all,

I'm just putting the finishing touches to my 2 month Tekken 7 inspired Bartop Arcade project, and was pretty happy with everything was going...until now.

Near the beginning of the project,  I had a Xin mo controller , 12 cheap non-illuminated concave buttons and zippy sticks which wasn't too hard to set up and all was fine...until I bloody decided to be flash and upgrade to a Ipac UIO, 18 SEIMITSU PSL-30N-5W2 5V ILLUMINATED SCREW IN arcade buttons, and  two sanwa sticks!  It's like jumping into the deep end when I can't swim properly!

Have a ton of wires and got a little help from Paul from arcade world with what to buy to connect these up,  but I've hit my first hurdle.  I've attached two RGB buttons to the board(just the LED wires), and they flash through the colours, but the Ipac UIO doesn't seem to be detected by the WinIPAC V2 software I downloaded. (Just see a photo of my board with a big red cross and the words: "NO BOARD"

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stupid question but:
You obv have the DC to the board for the LEDs to flash but have you got the USB plugged in to? You need both obviously.

Also do you have the correct software/firmware combo?
I have heard these dont work if you use the wrong software.

You could try the older/newer version and you can find the firmware on AWUK's page or the Ultimarc page.

Andy at Ultimarc is always friendly and helpful and a good go to guy if you get really stuck with this.

Yeah, the USB was plugged in.  Found out that the wire going from the Ipac is not a traditional USB wire as it has some modification to it, so I had a look and found I had used a different USB wire.  Also, with the firmware upgrade it seems to be reistered now thanks.  Now the task of how on earth I'm gonna wire this beast.....
