Thoughts on chrome t-molding?

I've heard mixed thing about it, some say it scratches and show finger prints, other say its fine...

I wouldn't worry about scratches or prints. I don't use the stuff simply because Chrome t-molding traditionally went on gambling machines and not arcade games. That is a non issue if you only have one or two machines, but it can stick out if you have 25 games and only one of them is all bling bling chromed out.

The chrome can flake off over time. Not as forgiving as the regular stuff.

I have it on the Arcade Legends that I just picked up for a new horizontal MAME build.  I am removing the chrome molding - not a fan.

My Faster then Speed sit down driving cab has factory installed chrome tmodling.  other than where its completely worn down from feet hitting it, the rest is in good shape. I just hit with a quick shot from a rattle can of chrome finish spray paint, then a quick shot of clear after. Its serviceable.  Aesthetically its up to you, but from a wear stand point, as long as oyu arent constantly making contact with it it should be fine.


Personally, Im indifferent to it.

The problem with chrome t-molding is that when it goes, It goes. When you nick or scratch black or colored plastic, you can't really see it unless you're looking for it. If something happens to your Chrome, it's noticeable. And if your OCD, it's really going to bug you. My crane has Chrome t molding, and thank God I'm not OCD.

Personally, I think Chrome t-molding belongs on Redemption machines. Other than that, I keep it away from arcade stuff.

Funny that's exactly what I was thinking of using it for was a driving cab, I may go with Grey, it looks decent. I figured the chrome would go with the whole car concept, but if its really not super durable I'll probably take another route...
