Smart strip??
« on: September 05, 2016, 07:18:39 am »
Hi all - I am based in the UK and building my 1st stand up machine...

I believe the extension lead I am after is known as a Smart strip in the USA.. however I cannot find one in the UK??.. am I calling it the wrong thing? surely they exist over here? (Essentially, PC plugged into master and once turned on or off it makes all other connected devices do the same)

Thank you
David

Good man!.. Sort of an old school 3way box adapter but with a master plug.. I have 4 sources - PC / TV / Marquee  /Speakers..

Perhaps can join a 2 gang extension to one of the slave ports..

Yeah me too on my last build. I just did as you say - ran a 4 way extension from one of the slave sockets. Works a charm.

Yep - into the master socket. Switch on pc. All slave sockets go on. Switch off PC. All slave sockets off.
