Micro Leaf Switches

Just wondering what peoples experiences are with these?

I know its a heated subject the whole micro vs leaf and dont want to kick that up again.
Especially as these are sort of a hybrid.

At the mo I have ultra lux buttons with cherry switches which are ok but I feel they could be better so ime thinking of changing the switches.

So has anyone tried these with ultra luxes and how did they perform?

Also does anyone know of a UK stockist?

They were a little awkward to fit in the buttons I'm using, but once I got them in place there is no comparison to cherry switches. They are great

Thanks Thomas, so you had Cherry switches before you fitted  the micro switches.

Do you find them better/worse on certain games? Or just better in every respect?

I like the idea of them but once the shipping is added on from that side of the pond its a expensive change so I want to make sure its worth it first!

I actually haven't played any games with them. I had the cherry switches that came with my buttons in my pin cab but that loud clicking is kind of annoying for pinball. And it is so much easier to press the buttons. Would be great for any rapid fire shmups.

Ive had no probs with em.
Other than wishing I had brought the concaves they are fine.

Had to make some minor performance mods to em but other than that they work just as well as my happs did.

I understand why people prefer the concave buttons, I do myself TBH they sort of help guide your finger.

Though I must admit I have got used to the flat tops now and i dont mind them.

I have heard people say that they dont feel right to touch either in terms of the feel of the plastic.
Not really sure what difference that makes though TBH and I cant really comment anyway.
Ime a tradesmen and I have pretty tuff fingers (meaning that in the least stupid way possible lol) So I dont really notice a difference in that respect.

If only there were an RGB variant of the ClassX, as it's incredibly nice to be able to light the appropriate buttons, in the appropriate colors, when you're multicading it up. Otherwise, for any unlit use case, I have to agree, True Leaf on the ClassX.

If I go light up buttons, I go translucent clear ILs with ponyboy's Rollie leaf switches.

Yup 100% agree. I use these (GGG True Leaf), and am VERY happy with the performance, fit and feel of these buttons.

Yup 100% agree. I use these (GGG True Leaf), and am VERY happy with the performance, fit and feel of these buttons.

On my cocktail cabinet, I have a 4-way leaf Pac-Pro joystick and two of these buttons per player. It's as close to original perfection as you're ever going to get.

By the way, you learn this when you start buying other buttons and experimenting. I've tried them all, and ultimately these were my favorites. Old school feel, Leaf action, and you won't break the bank.

We don't carry the IL buttons.  These are better (but I'm admittedly biased,  since I designed them )

We have stock in Red, Blue, Green, Clear, Yellow, Orange and Violet.  They are now standard with the Helio9 RGB lighting units, which provide the high-output and ability to tweak the color (especially useful for the colors where high output LED's don't exist to match.)  This also allows for limited color changing capabilities, which have a range that most probably wouldn't expect for a colored button.  Diffusers are included.

Special order for now.  Switch options and cost are the same as the Electric ICE 2 with the Helio9 lighting option.  Can be ordered by adding a note in the comments section at checkout until I can find a break in the activity to get them on the store (hopefully over the holidays)

Totally agree with the trial and error experimentation.

Ive done lots of mixing and matching to improve stuff but its nice to have a idea of what they are like to start with.

I have never really used leafs but dont have the room for traditional style ones so i have to improvise lol

I'd have to second the ClassX buttons.  I recently rebuilt my fightstick (just got room for an aracde so am in the process of designing it) and used these.

It drives me crazy when I see all those cheapo buttons and sticks being sold on Ebay. You spend all that time/effort and pride building a cab, don't cheap out on the hardware! Do you really want to be replacing and troubleshooting when all that cheap stuff breaks down?

Luckily reading the forums here steered me the right way to my components, and am I ever glad that it did. So thank you to contributors like Yotsuya.

Guess I was lucky in that respect as ive never brought cheap crap.
Though I have seen and been offered plenty!

I started with Happ buttons and Sticks and gone from there as ambitions and funds have increased.

But when I started in this hobby initially allot of this stuff wasn't on the market or was stupidly expensive!

Then other stuff I never understood or saw the need for.

Least I have not got to buy any bits for my next couple of builds as I have loads of spares lol

Never really bothered with leafs before as I mostly play fighters but my thinking is they would be worthwhile trying with the ultra luxs as they are fairly stiff buttons anyway.

And hell who knows in the future I may get bored of them and try the ices from GGG.

Its true... Ime a compulsive tinkerer when it comes to my own cab.
