Can you make a single Canadian Arcade thread we can ignore instead of starting endless threads trying to make Canadian Arcade a thing?

Have some ---smurfing--- tact.

I think we should revisit this place next year and see how the game selection has evened out. They've got a good demographic with the universities and other post secondary crowds nearby. Develop that loft area up above and bring in some more classics and this could be a great gaming destination.

Best of luck to Barcadia!

Chance: I think you should create multiple threads for each video so we can discuss each topic individually.  :lol

I disagree with the implication that I am trolling him. "Its a pixel thing" has all his videos in a single thread, Chance should do the same. He's littering the forums trying to promote his channel, then Josh comes by and bumps the thread here and at KLOV with the exact same text. I didnt make a mention as to quality or content of the video, I just brought up the senseless need to try and jam it down our throats. Personally, I don't need an hour+ long video showing me how to put a PCB in a Fedex box. I sincerely doubt you watched the entire thing John.

What's the big deal about trying to promote their channel, a post in the main thread is 'jamming it down our throats'? So what if they post at klov and here, not everyone is on both sites. Your reactions seem more out of line than the posts, obviously some personal axe to grind, why the hate? :dunno

Meh. If people want to watch arcade videos on youtube they can search youtube or subscribe to their favorite channels. These videos always feel like spam to me when they're posted on forums (thanks John's arcade for this trend). I suggested a separate forum for posting hobby videos here in the feedback section, but Saint ignores my requests...

Why watch a video for a half hour or more? Go play your games.

Multiple threads makes sense to me since (as John said) folks might want to comment on a particular video and keeping the comments together makes for an easier read.

I'm not sure why multiple threads is that big a deal.  However I know you are not alone in this thinking as the debate over the RIP threads showed.  To me there just isn't enough traffic on this site that makes having a few "extra" threads all that hard to manage/navigate.

 I just might have to take you up on that.

GF and I are in town for the Grand Prix, (she tells everyone it's for the T. Swift concert at the track...)  We're in and out of the State pretty quick, but i'll for sure let you know if we have any free time.

Could have seen Taylor Swift at the rodeo for $10 a few years ago.  I think that was the year  Toby Keith got on stage totally smashed 40 minutes late and slurred his way through half a dozen songs.  I stand by my choice.

Anyway, it's a two hour hop from there to the pinball museum in Hockley down 290.  Take a short detour through La Grange and stop wondering why it took ZZ Top 40 years to actually perform there.

---fudgesicle--- Dallas.

I'm still waiting for this tire kicker to come to ZapCon.

3 bits of feedback, take it or leave it if you wish.

1. Stop posting the track list, it comes off as being very pretentious. Include them in the credits of your video, but all it does is really pad the post.

2. Figure out your intended audience and purpose. An hour and 11 minutes video with a whole bunch of stuff seems very rambling. You have a specific goal with these videos? Is this just a dream of yours, to have your own TV variety show? I've watched a few of DeLuSioNaL's videos, because at least he's got one specific thing he's trying to do. Some of the better videos on KLOV specifically deal with an aspect of restoration. If you're trying to bring arcade building to newbies, you should really market it that way. I peeked at your pro tips, and they're stuff I've known since 2010. Nothing wrong with that, but clearly I'm not your intended audience.

3. In the last few months, the only time we hear from you is when you post those videos, nothing more. If we are your friends and this is your community, you really should just hang out. Otherwise, like the others have pointed out, it feels like spam.

You and I have talked via p.m. in the last few months, and I know we are good. I hope you see this is constructive, but that's the intent behind this post. Take it or leave it.

Sorry you feel that way. If you click my name and view my last posts I don't think your statement of everything I post is negative holds much weight. Even in this thread where you've chosen to blow up at me, I've been pretty cordial, well except maybe when I said "use some ---smurfing--- tact" or something of that ilk, but I've never claimed to be perfect.

I  don't see any personal attacks on chance or any unfair criticism of his video, I haven't gone into his projects threads suggesting he ignite his cab either, so there is that.

I'm off to bed, long day ahead of me tomorrow, I hope this thread doesn't get pruned I know I wont be reporting it!

God this forum has gotten soft.  Perhaps it's time to dust off pinballjim and get the drunk clown avatar going again.

Actually, I'm with John here, and I appreciate his support, and the silent support from many others I receive via PM.

Malenko's negative comments are a cancer on these forums and partly why I, (and many others) chose not to contribute these days.

Really not sure why the guy has to be such an ---uvula--- to me. Frankly, I don't care either way. People PM me and point it out all the time too, but i just laugh it off. I just see a petty child spreading malcontent, ruining conversations and threads for other people and choose to give him zero thought at most times.  Some punk kid on a keyboard.

Case in point, I comment on something or make a thread and he HAS to be there to voice something negative. Malenko, If you see "ChanceKJ" pop up someplace on BYOAC just leave it be, walk away. Be negative someplace else. We'll all be better for it.  ...Or don't. But i won't play along, i'll simply just go someplace else. Do you think that this makes me want to share content on BYOAC like my build threads, or come to places like ZapCon if i know you're there? I'm not going to waste my money to be in the presence of that kind of negativity. I don't keep those kind of people in my life on a personal basis, and I'm sure as hell not going to spend money on a rental car/hotel/flight to be around it in person.

The sad fact is that Malenko's negativity detracts and withdrawals those who want to add to this community, regardless of what other good content he provides. It kills progress, it kills the community, and it turns this into places like Reddit. And for that I wish he'd leave.

Malenko, If you have an opinion on something great, voice it. But if you're just out to be a dick and attack everything someone does you need a new hobby. And if you feel YOU don't need a one hour video on FedEx boxes and that this isn't "a thing", maybe stop to think that (at present count) there are 514 other people who have chosen to see it the other way and subscribe.
Lets go in order point by point:

You're with John? So you find it acceptable to go into project threads and advocate burning cabs and throw hissy fits?

I think this is projection more than fact. Click my name, look at my recent posts and you tell me how many of them are full of vitriol. Now click yours and see how many are just posts about your youtube channel.

All I've posted about lately concerning you is your spamming of the boards, if your delicate feelings are hurt I'll try to be nicer about it but I'll still suggest it every time you spam. Which is pretty much 90% of your posts now.

Ahhh your case in point, every time you post I reply with some sort of attack on you eh? That's what you're going to go with? Just look at us going back at forth at it in the Zelda project thread:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,144909.msg1584691.html#msg1584691
Its a fallacy to think I'm not going to not post in a thread just because you posted before me. However I am sort of flattered you're using me as a cop out to not go to Zapcon. Huge building with hundreds of people there with hundreds of games and pins to play, and you're under the impression I'd fly across the country to irk you instead of hanging out with people who aren't self centered and have a good time.

I dont know of a single person who quit because of me. Closest thing you'll find is when Howard said I was the straw that broke the camel's back but ended up returning, so that's still a push at zero. Remember all those people who didn't want to be on the UCA board when they found out I was going to be on it? Wait no, that was you, remember? The UCA's you cheated at to win one? Yeah those UCAs more than 1 person didnt want to have to deal with you, but I'm the cancer.

Sort of contradictory to say I should leave the boards then in the next breath tell me to voice my opinion, isn't it (all while complaining I'm voicing my opinion)?
514 subscribers you say? Why does the latest video only have 214 views , and 8 thumbs up? Your Metallica pinvid doesn't even have 300 views. I know if I ever start a youtube channel (dont worry I wont) I'll definitely want subscribers who dont actually watch the videos.

Anyway I digress, enough free bumps from old cancer stick Malenko, please find another scape goat for spamming, and not posting project threads, and not going to Zapcon, etc.

Side note: Insulting someone by implying they act like a child, then calling them a punk kid...................... you sure you aren't X2?

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I think the animosity started when Chance decided to blast fellow BYOAC members for not agreeing with his design choices over on Instagram. That and threatening to go to the mods about it. Kind of a ---smurfette--- move. Then there was that passive-agressive rant he posted a while ago about how we should be posting, as if everyone is supposed to agree with every choice a BYOAC member makes for their projects. Him and Johnrt just want to give out handies whether or not those projects were good/well constructed or not. It's fallacious, and doesnt help the progress of our hobby if truths no matter harsh isn't stated. Personally I would prefer someone telling me I'm doing it wrong, especially if it comes from the more established experienced members.

Chance, I remember when you were a new member needing help. If I would've known you were going to turn into the dbag you appear to be today, I would have never helped you out. Creating "tutorials" as if they were your own instead of just linking to tutorials that already existed was where you lost me. Don't forget where you started out, you ain't ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

ZapCon is a lovefest. If you guys remember my posts, I don't allow any beefs to fester there. ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, Malenko and DeLuSioNaL29 were taking selfies together there. Everybody is welcome with open arms and should feel a certain level of Brotherhood there. Except for Kaneda, ---fudgesicle--- that guy.

Personally, I find it distasteful that members are telling other members they need to quit. You don't get to make that decision.

This doesn't really surprise me that beefs are put by the wayside face-to-face.  People seem to be more civil in person than behind a keyboard.  Plus a life-strategy of being a dick and then telling people who don't like it they are thin-skinned doesn't seem like it would play well in real life.

Enh, I think some of the members here who I've met at ZapCon have no problem being genuine and telling someone what they think of them to their face. The fact is, we're there for a specific purpose, coming together due to a love of gaming and BYOAC.

Thinks of something useful to contribute to the thread...

... Spouse approval denied...

 ;)

Edit: to be fair, chucking all vids in one thread means if you're scanning you might not realise there's something you're interested in. Life's too short to be stressing out about this of all things.
