Anyone know the best way of removing these pins.

I have to swap a couple of pins on this connecter to enable LED lights to be always on. I've managed to do a couple by wiggling, poking, using a needle, pressing down and up on the pins with a jewellers screwdriver, a blade, and brute force. It took hours just to do a couple!
Thing is, i have another 15 of them to do and wondered if anyone knew of a quicker way of removing them?

Well, i found a decent method..you have to press down REALLY hard on the metal in the plastic spaces with a small screwdriver. Sometimes they come out and sometimes you have to coax them out.

i believe a buddy of mine was working with pins like this.. i believe he had a tool that basically was like a hollow straw that you basically just stick into the hole and the pin pulls out.

I managed to remove the pins (17 of them!) with a small screwdriver. Replaced them in the same orientation.

However i now have the problem of the pins working their way out of the connectors. Any ideas?

I've tried taping them in, cable ties, and brute force but they still come out eventually.

Probably the pin deformed when you disconnected them. If you look close you will notice how it locks in. Just pull up the metal piece which locks the pin.

Hollow straw tool is for the round connectors you see on pinball machines, or if you're doing something like making a serial cable for your PC.  Nothing's going to do any better than a needle or jeweler's screwdriver for pushing those tabs down.  Just bend them back out before you shove into their new home.
