Buying from Namco.com

Has anyone had any luck with their used game department for machines that are on location and NOT directly available through a manager at an arcade?

I have written seven e-mails to them in the last month or so and they have not responded. At first I thought that it may be because of the holiday season, but this is just getting silly.

Damn I wanted that Marvel vs. Capcom machine, but I have given up on it now.

Well, I am kind of dissapointed that so many of you have had trouble. They are selling dedicated NFL Blitz machines dirt cheap, and I want one bad. I think I will just stay in their faces until they cough up the goods. I'll announce whether I have success or not.

 I used to work for a namco arcade.  I never delt with the namco sales via the internet.. and honestly, i dont think they are set up to handle such things easily and effeciently.
 
 Thier stores pc's are custom dos like interfaces.. so communications is minimal.  Thier upper managment may also have to decide weather the game should be sold.. as well as scheduling replacment deliveries from store to store... and much more.

 If you really want the machines.. I suggest you call the store where the game is at and talk to the manager directly.   Youll get an answer in a day or less.   You might even be able to pick the game up in the same day.

 I had sold at least 5 games in like 2 months.  Got into trouble when i sold too many of them cause I didnt have anything scheduled to replace the empty spots.

I wish I could...  problem is that some listings have phone numbers and others just have the city that it is located in and a generic namcoarcade.com email address.  Do you know if the machines listed are only those owned by Namco Arcade owned arcade locations?  Or could these machines be in bars or other non Namco locations?  Also what are some of the names of the Namco properties that would be good to try and find the machines in?  Thanks if you can help!

I called the number for Namco and asked for their used game department. I got connected to this fellow who said he was some sort of senior manager that route managers reported to. He explained that they stoped listing the actual location or contact because their customers were upset that people were calling about games and that Namco was conducting sales on their sites. I asked why nobody answered my emails I sent months ago about buying a game. He had no idea but gave me the direct email of the guy who did the actual contacting of route managers who contact prospective buyers. I emailed that guy on the 2nd of Jan. and never heard anything back.

Sounds like quite an organization they're running there. Based on what I've read in this thread, I'd be very reluctant to do business with them.

Try buying the games at an Arcade Auction.  In TN, there are 3 active auction sites.  go to a search engine and type in arcade auction + your town, there are lots of sites that talk about the time and location of auctions.

They have them all over.  Look in the sunday paper under collectables or auctions and you can find them.

They usually have them at state fairgrounds.  Sometimes at convention centers.  You can get what you want.  

Plus you can play machines all day for Free!

 Go to Any namco aracde and ask the manager to print you out a list of games for sale.  They have the list - and it contains all games with thier store location (all games on the namco arcade site are most likely all store locations... afaik - they do not operate anyplace else).  I think it even listed the phone numbers too... but even if not, they have access to ge the numbers easily.

Did a search on locations at their site and found that the city that the machine I want is listed being in doesn't have a location listed on Namco Arcade...    Quite annoying, though I might go to the closest Cyberstation and see if I can get a phone # and machine list like you suggest...  though the more bs they put me through the less likely I am to buy anything from them and I was ready to buy the machine right away when I first saw it.
