Alternative to Craftymech mini-slg
« on: May 15, 2016, 01:15:27 pm »
Hey there...
Since I have two build to do this year and since both will use LCD screens, I was looking to vintage up my displays. I find HLSL interesting, but it seems a pain to configure when you have a lot of games. CRTEmu driver also seem interesting, but I'm not sure my video cards will support it.

I was looking buy the Mini-SLG but it seems to be out of stock everywhere and since this product is now discontinued, I am left with either building my own (http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/other/vga-scanlines.htm) or buying the SLG3000 which is 60$ plus shipping here.

Since I am hopeless at electronics and with a soldering iron, is there any more hardware options that are in the ballpark of the Mini-SLG?

Over on the shoryuken.com forums there is a member (Toodles) that makes an slg that he sells for $20 + shipping (about $6) Linkie to thread ( http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/145407/t-slg-toodles-scanline-generator-authentic-retro-look-from-your-modern-flatscreen )

He has a link to the sales site in his forum signature there so just look in that thread for a post by Toodles and the order direct from toodles link is in his sig.
