Pretty cool piece of hardware, certainly gives DK some more playability in my book since I don't really like it all that much.

Great "how to" video for the DK guys interested in this.  :applaud: Clears up some confusion that I had about this mod.

I have one stupid question:

Does this mean that I would no longer need Braze's Donkey Kong High Score Save Kit?

(I have not purchased either kit yet)

There are no "stupid questions", Yes, you will NOT need the Braze kit with this.

Don't quote me on this, but i THINK John is perusing some sort of nod or approval from Twin Galaxies on it due to the method it saves the scores for DK. The board uses the original ROMs directly on the DK PCB, which he told me was idea if you're a competition player. However it's not been cleared by the TG peoples at this time.  Thats all I know.

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up.

Amazing to see something like this 35 years later. I got a sneaky suspicion the popularity of this will encourage other programmers to try it out on other classics. (DKjr, or Mario Bros could be great candidates)

Vwbus, the guy that runs high score saves is a local, so if you want to get one at ZapCon, you could save shipping.

I dont believe it works with regular MAME quite yet, Sock Master was using a modified version of MAME that allowed for an additional ROM slot that was required for the DK Remix to work. He did make a demo version of the roms that would fit into the space of the regular DK roms, but it removes a lot of levels.

You can get a CoCo3 emulator and run DK Remix on that though!

Spoke to him. No booth.  They're flying off the shelf. Your best bet is to use the website.

In the Website's description, it say, "Compatibility with Braze's D2K kit."

Does this mean you can run D2K on it too?

Looks like they are both daughterboards so probably can just piggyback the modules so that both are installed (at least that would seem to be what they mean by "Compatibility with Braze's D2K kit."

Yes, it does work with the D2K board. Here is another video showing it:

You can get a CoCo3 emulator and run DK Remix on that though!

Just downloaded and it runs well in VCC 1.42 (after you figure out how to load the disk image and run it !) - Is an interesting mix of levels.  :applaud:
