Error code 16 Rowe R-92 Jukebox

The manual list several areas that could produce the error code. I can figure out EM pinballs but I am pretty much in the dark when it comes to Solid State machines. How do I proceed to determine if it's the computer, keyboard, etc?

Hi Butch,

Welcome to the forum.

As far as the CCC is concerned there is a closed circuit in the keyboard switch number 3.

Have you reset the error codes as per your manual?

I would start with the easiest first, disconnect the keyboard and check for a short on switch 3, if this is ok then check the wiring back to the display board which the keyboard connects to.

My best guess is that you have a faulty display, these dual side boards are somwhat difficult to repair because if is difficult to replace suspected chips and so easy to damage the tracks some of which go under the chips.

It might be an idea to send your keyboard, display and CCC to a Rowe Ami specialist in your country just to confirm where the fault lies.

 I sent the keyboard, display, CCC, and both of the harnesses to Bruce Wentworth as you suggested. He also seemed to think the problem was in the display when I first spoke to him. I am currently awaiting the test results. The other issue I have is with the CD player. It's a Pioneer PDM410. It worked until I had to transport it 75 miles to it's new location several years ago. If I can not get someone to look at it or if the repair cost isn't worth it, could I convert another 410 or any other model to play the CD's. Or if you have any other suggestions.
