Plexiglass Woes
« on: March 26, 2016, 11:47:34 am »
Howdy all!

So a buddy and I just finished cutting out the plexiglass for my control panel. All went well, except he somehow managed to tilt the router at an angle and cut one of my buttons lop-sided on one side.

With a button installed in the hole, the lop-sided cut is just barely visible; probably not enough for anyone to notice but me. But it'll drive me damn mad.

Does anyone know of some nice looking washers I could put under the buttons to hide it, or any other method of hiding it? The button hole in question is a start/coin button, so if I do anything to make it stand out, I can simply do to the other start/coin buttons to make the control panel uniform.

Thanks!

Cut a nice circle out of contact paper or sign making vinyl.  Center it onto the hole, cut an opening for your button and install.  If you don't make the circle too large, and use a color/pattern which compliments the panel, it will look nice and cover up the error.

Otherwise, there's not much you can do, other than cutting a new piece of plexi.  Anything else will raise the button, and you might not like how that looks.

I'll certainly give that a go! Thanks!

As for options that raise the button, I'm open to that too. If I could find some sort of washer that would look nice, I could buy enough to raise all my start, coin and admin buttons around it to make it look uniform.
