Yes along with Race Drivin'. The panorama version of Race Drivin' is also working now though I haven't tried it.

I hope you like a lot of X2 in your thread telling you it sucks if you dont use original hardware.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

It's been working in MAME for a long time.

You might be better off using the standup version.  It had simpler controls.

If you have a clutch pedal and all that, the regular version is playable but more complicated to set up.
The shifter was an analog joystick.  There is a special procedure to set up your shifter in MAME (google it).

The sensitivity will need adjusted in MAME or the steering will be uncontrollable.

Shhh.... don't wake Voldemort.  ;)

Seriously though a lot of people don't play it because of the controls.....  even in the simpler version they are a bit much for an arcade racer.

I dont play it cause it sucks

Last time I played it was for the racing competition ages ago, I didnt have any control issues with my cheap ass PS3 racing wheel. The physics are a little too floaty for me and I have a knack for meeting the dump truck at the top of the loop.

Yeah, I only ever play for a couple minutes before I get bored and move on.
I played on an original compact cab last year and had pretty much the same experience.

The full size cab probably would have kept my interest a bit longer.

Am I the only one that likes HD/RD then? :)
Playing it in my racing cab is not an option because of the I-AM-CHEAP PC i use, but every time i have a chance i drop a coin to "feel the road" on my RD "compact" beast ;)

The game(s) always felt like more of a tech demo than a fun driving experience to me.  So when it was new it was impressive, but if you remove that nostalgia-based attachment, it just isn't very fun and looks really outdated.

This is SO true. I remember thinking how amazing it looked when it was new at the arcade but after a few plays I was pretty disappointed in it.
Howard hit it right on the head saying that it felt more like a tech demo.

I love Hard/Race Drivin, played it a lot back in the day.

I own a Hard Drivin Compact with a Race Drivin PCB set.

That being said, I've never been able to get this playable in MAME (at least using a keyboard), I think its the analog settings mapping to a keyboard cause issues with the brake/accelerator.
