Qucik question. With the exception of  the obvious original equiptment, what did you use/hack as a flight stick? How about a steering wheel?

Thanks

If money is not a problem, these are the best controls for flight sims:

I'm not so sure about wheels, but it seems that the Logitech MOMO force wheels are the best ever made.

I read what you said, but if you want an analog stick I really don't think you can get better than an arcade stick.  The vast majority of PC sticks are plasticky awful IMO - same goes for (most) wheels...

Happ sells new analog sticks if you happen to be a millionairre, otherwise keep an eye peeled at ebay :)

360 degree wheel: Atari Pole Position control panel - Ebay, $40
270 degree wheel: Spy Hunter control panel - Ebay, $35
Analog Joystick(s): Tron/Gorf style 3 button - local auction, 10$(including upright cab) Two button joystick with seperate throttle - local auction, $20 (including Namco Air Combat sitdown cab)

My personal opinion of Thrustmaster stuff has declined sharply over time. Their old stuff was quite good, but the newer stuff just doesn't hold up to hard usage. I'm a ham-fisted pilot, so if you can fly with a light touch you might have better luck with their stuff. I'll stick with CH, their joysticks can take the abuse. ;)
