A couple quick KeyWiz40 questions
« on: March 01, 2016, 07:26:05 am »
Just got my keywiz in yesterday and got it all wired up. I cannot get the keywiz uploader software to work but I just noticed there is a specific version for windows 7/vista that I must have missed so I'll give that version a shot tonight. The default mame keys work great though so no big deal if I can't get it to work.

- It shouldn't be an issue to power 10 or so 12v LED buttons offa the 5v connection right? Specifically these buttons http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=338

- When I hold down the player 1 button 1 and button 2 and move the joystick it rotates my screen, which I'm guessing it's picking up the windows 10 option for screen rotation. Anyway to stop this behavior?

Thanks!

Disable windows hotkeys.  Sometimes the option to disable rotation is in the video card software.

Personally, I prefer to just use other inputs on the Key-Wiz instead of the first four default MAME keys.
It saves a lot of hassles with other emulators.  I usually substitute VBNM.  If you still want to get use out of the oddball keys (TAB, ALT, etc), use them for things like coin input.
I've used the uploader software before, but find it a more bulletproof solution to just use different inputs.

Can't help you there.
