60 in 1 Joystick help
« on: February 13, 2016, 11:49:31 pm »
Hi everyone!

Can someone give me a hand with installing the Joystick that came with my 60 in 1 kit.

I believe there is a part missing, I can't seem to get it to work. Can someone tell me what parts normally come with this joystick?  Can someone tell me if I'm missing any parts? Even better, is there s diagram that shows where and what part goes first.

Image attached, thank you!

Do you have an e-clip/e-ring?

Drop the balltop/shaft/dustwasher in from the top.

Add the spring and actuator from the bottom.

The e-clip slides into the groove near the end of the shaft and stops the spring and actuator from slipping off the end of the shaft.

Thanks!

I understand the diagram you sent and tried to install it but still, I think there is a piece missing, because when I position the pieces and put the C ring at the end, it all seems very loose, and I don't get the normal functionality, the clicks and all.

just so you know, I'm trying to install it on a Multicade Panel I purchase from ebay which goes with the kit. is one of those Black  metal panels. Is it possible, that maybe I have to have the Metal Panel installed on top of a 3/4 plywood base when installing the joystick?

No.  If the parts are all present and properly assembled, the joystick will work properly with or without any panel.

The diagram is a generic one from slagcoin -- your (Sanwa JLW knockoff?) stick may be slightly different.   :dunno

If the wide part of the actuator lines up with the microswitch nubs and parts are flopping around loose on the shaft, it sounds like you are indeed missing something, probably a plastic pivot.

Suggestion. Throw that stick in the trash and order the replacement Ms. Pac joystick. Happ Part Number: 50-6084-1125R00.
