Arcade Power Supply Question

Hello-

Can I use an arcade power supply to power my raspberry Pi (5v), small audio power amp (12V 6A), and 9" LCD Monitor (12VDC)?

I was hoping the +5 V/1A would take care of the Pi and the +12V/4A would power the LCD.

Is this correct? I really don't want to blow these components up!

yeah it should be fine. those power supplies are pretty robust.

keep in mind that most of those supplies regulate the 5 volt and wing the 12 volt based on the 5 volt load so it may end up being high or low depending on how much you load down the 12 volt. you may have to attach a dummy load or some 5 volt lamps onto your 5 volt line to help load it down some more to keep the 12 volt up if all that is on the 5 volt line is the Pi.

doesn't really matter if it's marked "AC" most of those supplies are isolated input anyways.

if you really want to get uppity about the voltage input though, you can take apart the supply and see where the screw terminals lead to... the one with the fuse on it TECHNICALLY should be the live wire whilst the other is neutral. but in all honesty, it doesn't really matter if it's generically marked.

if it mattered much (due to regulations or a particular setup is used where neutral is tied to chassis ground), it would be marked L and N
