Awesome man, love the name of it!  That wiring looks like it's been maintained at least.  Not bad for 38 year old machine.

This is cool, my wife and I really want to get a pinball machine also. Was this a local deal or did you end up on another exciting adventure trip?

I had a Playmatic, it was an interesting mix of Williams and Gottlieb parts under the hood.  Mostly Gottlieb, though.  Backglass, playfield, and plastics will be in near perfect condition and put others of the era (particularly Williams) to shame.

Maybe you'll be the one that actually does something with MP3 sounds but most don't bother after they get the machine home.

Yep, and I give it 12 before he sells the truck and doesn't even bother play testing them before parties.  Lucky if they get a rag wiped on the glass.  And the "you haven't gotten a new one in years" whines get a little louder at each party.

I think the name "Chance" clouded your judgement.  LOL.

Maybe if they change the name of Zapcon to "Chance-Con" you'll pass up buying something and actually GO!

(just kidding).  Good find man, looks sharp!

Extremely nice for it's age.  The simpler ones can be just as fun as the ones with all the toys.  But you'll probably get bored of it in a year, and trade it off (happens a lot), and/or build a VP cabinet to get your fix for variety, and it will collect dust.

Just being honest from experience. :)

Im having issues getting my brain around that, (Never seen one before). Part of me wants to say SCORE!, but the Spanish style art, Well, never was really a fan, The setup seems a bit offputting , And the playfield seems overly simplistic as far as pins of that era go.... On the upside however the cab art seems really fun (Love the dot theme), and it seems to be in nice condition, So without dropping a coin in it Jenn gives it ...Two thumbs up. ;)

Sometimes simplistic can be a lot of fun. I play the hell out of The Pinball Arcade's digital version of Big Shot, even though there are a ton of other classic tables to choose from.

Maybe I'm naive but the average cost entry point on arcade machines already seems high to me...let alone pinball machines.

I'm genuinely surprised how anyone every gets their first pin.  Just too far out of my league to ever jump in.

If anyone has a secret...do tell. :)

Yeah... I believe they're millionaires. Hey, that's why they're called pin snobs:lol

Here's an example from this country:

28000 NOK, that is 3250 US dollars!

Personally, I can't afford them anymore.  Those sub-$500 days are pretty much gone.

Big Shot and Sure Shot are fun EMs.  I've had a chance at a couple of those and should have taken it.

I'd really recommend you leave as much of that Chance machine alone as possible, Chance, but do what thou wilt.

The beeps and boops are authentic to the machine and its era. I don't know what kind of MP3s to add that. Especially since the theme is fairly generic.

Yeah, but WHAT sounds? Looking at that machine, I expect nothing but beeps and boops- that's what I hear at ZapCon when I play old machines like that. I guess I don't get what MP3 callouts you would add to it. :dunno

...this only cost me $355 USD. :D

That seems like a pretty good deal to me. I'm have no idea what a good deal would be but a quick Craigslist search in my area and the cheapest one I found was a Gottlieb Mustang for $750. Not bad I guess but 90% of the ones I usually see are $2000 and up.

Interestingly enough, the guy had it listed for $500USD, but when i sent him the email he recognized me from a previous deal (he's the guy i bought that huge PCB lot from a few weeks back).  And because he knew i was coming in from 3 hours away, My name was Chance, and a few other factors he just said take it for $355. I was stoked.

For only a couple bucks he also threw in an original power supply, a working SunsetRiders PCB, and a bunch of nintendo buttons and buttons holders. :D

Yots is right then...it'a all about networking.  :)
