arcade gun calibration with aimtrak issues
« on: January 23, 2016, 05:28:21 pm »
Hello All,

I'm trying to calibrate my arcade guns using aimtrak.  When I get into calibration mode the mouse moves to upper left, I aim and click, mouse cursor then moves to top right corner and I aim and click, then the mouse moves to the bottom center, I aim and click, and the mouse restarts and moves to the bottom Center, Aim and click, over and over and over.  It seems like calibration never sees my aiming at the bottom center of the monitor.

I'm using the super IR sensor bar from arcadeguns.com.  It is mounted at the top of my 36" LCD.

Is it the guns?  sensor bar?

Thanks,
-Bob

"sensor bar" throws people off as to the way these things work.
The bar is nothing but lit IR LEDs that stay on.  They don't even have to be plugged into the computer.
They can be powered by other means.

It sounds like the camera in the gun might not be able to see the IR LEDs on top the TV when the gun is pointed at the bottom.
How far away are you standing?

You can go into the sensor view (the gun's point of view) to see if it's dropping out of view.

I turned up the gain to 5 and then it finally recognized when I was aiming at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks,
