Help identifying a machine
« on: January 09, 2016, 11:30:34 am »
I have a gambling machine from a bar that recently closed.  It says Nintendo on the plate on the back of it.  Model # is TKG4-UP-US, which google shows as a Donkey Kong 3 arcade machine? Serial # is 31507.

EDIT: Added some pics

What are you asking as it seems like you already identified it. ???

If arcades are considered gambling machines then I must have a gambling problem.
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.

Pics would help.

Pictures where you can see the cabinet instead of the gambling machine parts would also help.

But from what I can see it does look like a Donkey Kong to 8-liner conversion.

Do you have pics from the inside also? Perhaps you are lucky and the original DK hardware is still inside.

That never happens. Money, drugs and sex toys are found inside conversion cabinets 20x more often than original boards are.

You say that like that's a bad thing?

I'd take that over original DK hardware any day.

Just saying it is really unlikely. I have purchased hundreds of games over the years and peaked inside thousands (at auctions, warehouses, etc) and not one time have I ever seen a conversion game with the original board still inside. There are a FEW guys at klov who have found games that way, but it basically just doesn't happen, at least not with original boards. Original power supplies however often stay in the cabinet even if the machine got converted to a switcher.

How can we identify a cab, if you don't make photos of the cab?

But yeah, it probably was a donkey kong
