Does a title fight cabinet break down easily?
« on: January 07, 2016, 06:19:59 pm »
Howdy all, first post here in... 10 or so years.  Maybe longer since I actually built a cabinet.  Hard to believe but I can't remember my old username, password etc

Anyways,
I recently picked up a working title fight game and want to move it into my little arcade room.  But I appear to have overestimated the size of my door and the cabinet is... big.  It's one of these.

http://gamesdbase.com/Media/SYSTEM/Arcade/Cabinet/big/Title_Fight_-_1992_-_Sega.jpg, not mine obviously but it's the same cab.

Does anyone know if the top will come off fairly easily so I can get this thing in?  I believe if I can separate it in half I can rotate the upper through the door like a couch and reassemble it.  I've never taken a cab apart though so I'm looking for a little guidance before I destroy something by accident.   It appears to work without an issue and I'd hate to send it down the road if I didn't have to.  But leaving it in my freezing garage is a less than fun idea.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the billboard is the only thing that will come off. Theres 2 bolts holding it on.

Thanks for the manual link, it will come in handy.

The part I'm needing to remove though is the entire top 1/2, the monitor and control areas.

If that comes off I believe I can lay that section on its side and rotate it through the doorway and wheel the base is normally to reassemble in place.  Or if it comes apart into 2 pieces for each monitor housing it should walk right through the door.

A quick measurement when I pulled it in the shop yesterday, I believe the total depth is about 40", even with an oversized door that's not going to work without taking it apart.
